I was in the Marine Corps for eight years and deployed eight times to Okinawa, Spain, Haiti, Cuba, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

Two combat deployments to Haiti and Iraq where I was wounded by a vehicle bomb. 5STAR accepted me so I would have a place to stay to keep the current job until I am able to return to North Carolina.

This place has also helped me reconnect with fellow veterans and allowed me to help other residents with rides to VA appointments and other needed transport.

Without 5STAR I wouldn’t be able to continue my full time job and build connections for further employment. 5STAR has been a much needed necessity when I had no other place to turn to.
